The Portable Long Service Authority (PLSA) will participate in the 2026 South East Melbourne Disability Expo(opens in a new window), with staff available at booth 32 to answer questions and provide information about portable long service leave to thousands of expected attendees.
The Expo will be held at the Cranbourne Racing Centre on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 March 2026. The free event brings together people working in disability and community organisations, as well as people with disability, their families and carers.
As one of the region’s largest disability expos, the event will connect attendees with hundreds of service providers, support organisations and community groups, alongside a program of informative and interactive presentations delivered by industry experts.
PLSA staff will be available throughout the Expo to help raise awareness of portable long service leave among workers and employers in the community services and disability sector.
Many disability workers and their employers fall within the community services industry, one of the three industries covered by the Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme (Scheme).
The Scheme enables workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries to build long service leave entitlements based on their years of service in the industry, even when moving between employers. It is compulsory for employers with covered workers in these industries to register with the Scheme.
The Expo provides an important opportunity for the PLSA to connect directly with workers and employers and build understanding of portable long service leave entitlements across the sector.
Workers covered by the Scheme are encouraged to visit the PLSA booth to confirm their registration and learn how to use the worker portal on the PLSA website. The portal allows workers to track employer contributions, view their current accrual, update their contact details and access annual statements.
The Expo has been designed with accessibility front of mind, including accessible facilities, service animal-friendly spaces and a dedicated Quiet Hour on Saturday 28 March from 9:00 am–10:00 am, offering a reduced-noise environment for attendees who prefer a calmer experience.
