Marking 7 years of portable long service in Victoria

Board members, past and present, and special guests gathered at the Authority's Bendigo head office to celebrate the Authority's 7th anniversary and recognise its contribution to Victorian workers and employers.

The event marked an important milestone for the Authority and provided an opportunity to reflect on 7 years of administering the Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme, increasing awareness of portable long service, and supporting workers and employers across covered industries.

Hosted by our CEO / Registrar, Joseph Yeung, the event included a Welcome to Country by Traditional Owner Peta Hudson, and addresses by Matt O'Connor, Deputy Secretary of Industrial Relations Victoria, Julius Roe, inaugural Chair of the Authority's Governing Board, and Lisa Chesters MP, Federal Member for Bendigo. Speakers reflected on the Authority's remarkable achievements since its establishment, highlighting its growth into a trusted regulator. They acknowledged the dedication and expertise of Authority employees, past and present, in shaping the Authority’s success.

A highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of the Authority’s First Nations artwork which was created by Djaara artist, Melissa Taylor.

As the Authority looks to the future, it remains committed to administering a quality Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme, supporting employers and workers, and delivering a sustainable Scheme.
